Born from real experiences with anxiety and overwhelm, Calm Bean creates heavyweight hoodies designed to bring quiet comfort to loud days.

We’re a mother-daughter brand, built from two sides of the same struggle, one learning to navigate school, study stress, and the growing noise of life; the other learning to recover from burnout, panic attacks, and anxiety. We both searched for something to bring calm in the chaos, something soft, safe, and grounding. But nothing like that existed in South Africa.

So we made what we wished existed: a hoodie that feels like a soft hug when life feels too loud.

We imagined a cocoon, big, soft, and safe. A deep, oversized hood for seclusion. Limited seams and no tags to avoid irritation. No drawstrings, for safety and peace of mind. Just comfort, warmth, and the freedom to breathe.

Each Calm Bean hoodie is made from premium 440gsm fleece, chosen for its weighted, soothing feel. The fit is oversized, unisex, and sensory-friendly, designed to help you feel grounded, calm, and comforted wherever you are.

Calm Bean isn’t a medical product or a treatment. We’re not specialists, just two people who know what it feels like to need calm, and wanted to create something that might help. As conversations around anxiety, mental health, and big emotions grow, we hope Calm Bean can be a small tool to ease the overwhelm and spark connection.
